We are selling our house and I couldn’t be more excited! just the idea of new and fresh beginnings. I cannot wait to meet our new neighbors. See what the Lord has for us next.
But at the same time, it’s a little bittersweet to leave our first home. It’s our first major purchase together. The place that I have spent MANY hours making a home. The wonderful place that we brought both of our boys home too. Where they learned to walk, play… so many great memories here. I cherish ALL of them. But I get to take those with me.
So, next month we move. I have never moved before really. From college- you can seriously pack it all into a car. This time, we will REALLY have to move. My parents never moved. they still live in the same place. So this is foreign to me. But it seems really exciting. I look forward to getting rid of useless stuff. Who wants to carry baggage onto the new place. So we are praying for the perfect next place. (read on)
Moving and extra baggage has got me thinking. It’s so that way with our relationship with the Lord. he wants us to move into newer, brighter, lighter, fresher place and here we come bringing all of our useless junk with us. Not just a tote bag… boxes and boxes of weighty, dark, ugly junk that we do not need. It’s sort of a security blanket for us. We keep it because we are used to it. But Lord I desire to shake that stuff off and away. I have been spending some time lately trying to figure out what lies I have in me, foundational lies that Satan is using for evil. Man, it’s been freeing to release those and replace with God’s truth about me. I want to enter into garden of sunlight and joy. I want to dance with my Saviour, unhindered by myself. I want to feel His warmth around me. I want to abide in His forgiveness and mercy. Reveal it Lord. Speak your truth. Cleanse my being. Release Satan’s strongholds. May life reflect only you!
I pray that all of you will move into that new place with the Lord, free of condemnation and strongholds. I pray that you will dance freely!
