Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of respect, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if something is excellent or praiseworthy, think about these things. ~Philippians 4:8
The mind- it’s a powerful thing. For good or for bad, the mind controls our emotions, our thoughts and our physical being. We get to choose what controls our mind though. And that is an even more powerful thing. We choose what voice we listen to. We choose who we believe defines the truth around us and in us. We choose who defines us.
Mental control is something that I need to work on. I will admit that. It’s a hard thing for me. My thoughts are running 90 miles an hour. As a mom & wife, there are probably 20 lists going on at the same time in my head. But, being able to discern whose voice I am hearing is crucial to my walk with the Lord and my ability to love others. I don’t want to hear my voice or the voice of the world or the enemies. I want to hear God’s voice. I want to hear Him lavish truth over my life. I want to hear what He has to say to me, about me and others.
So, today…. I’m going to think about whatever is excellent and praiseworthy, whatever is commendable, lovely, pure, just, worthy of respect, whatever is true. I want to know God’s voice. And that’s where I will hear it!

I love “want to hear Him lavish truth over my life”, oh man, me too.
But I have to silence all the static so I can actually hear Him.
Great post today Marci.
