ours is "Whatever is takes, with no regrets!" It comes from when we were first married and we decided our marriage needed to show God's love to others as a representation of Christ's love for his bride...we don't always succeed, but we always have something we're aiming towards. Focus and refocusing is so important!

Our marriage started with the mantra "grace to you." At our rehearsal dinner, Drew's dad gave us a small framed "sign" he made for us that said "GRACE TO YOU." His speech that night was about always showing grace to one another (i.e. when socks don't make it to the hamper, toilet seat is up, etc. then "grace to you"). We still have the sign hanging by our front door and though we aren't always perfect at it, it is what we strive for. I hope our kids will feel His grace also in the way that we treat and love them.

ours is, "pursue the greatest joy" i so want that to be the theme of my life. that i don't just choose fleeting pleasures with the illusion of joy, but that we as a family choose the greatest joy.

When the kids were growing up, mine was "I just want them to be friends when they leave home" and they are. They learned to negotiate, support each other and stay in touch.
