Family Motto

Last week, Gabe and I decided that we needed a family motto.  You know, a mantra that we turn to.  We wanted something that we would say would define us, as a guide for both us and our kids.

We have some good friends who used to jokingly say their motto was “Krawczyks never loose!”  It’s a great starting place, right?!  So, Gabe thought we should make ours, “Hoffmans always beat Krawczyks!”  But, we thought it deserved more depth than that.  (more…)

it’s getting better and better…

Today is our 9th wedding anniversary.  9 years!  And what a 9 years it has been!  There have been really high highs and some really low lows.  But, I think that is what marriage and relationship is all about.  It’s been a great 9 years!

“I don’t wanna talk about you….”

I have been listening to and being ministered to by Jesus Culture lately.  There is this one song that I love the words… she says to God, “I don’t wanna talk about you, like you are not in the room.”  I just love that.  Isn’t that the truth?  So many times we talk about God and not to God, we sing praise about God, but not to God.  Why wouldn’t we tap into His presence?  Why wouldn’t we enter into conversation and praise into the greatest Creator ever?  Why wouldn’t we run to the One who loves us beyond our understanding, enough that He sacrificed His only Son?  Why wouldn’t we spend our days in conversation with Him, asking Him along the way what He wants us to know, do, see, feel? whew! what a break! :)

I feel terrible.  It’s kinda like working out for me!  If I am in the routine of doing something, boy I keep with it.  But once I break it, even for a short time, it is the hardest thing ever for me to start back!  And that’s been the same with blogging for me.

But, lucky for you- I am back.  I am going to make effort to get my thoughts down- if not for anyone but myself!

So, here’s my official apology.  I don’t feel guilt over it- which is good!  I am learning a lot about living in freedom.  There will be lots of posts regarding this coming soon.  If I am going to speak my heart- freedom is what you will hear about.  It is the melody that God is singing to me in loud, beautiful songs.  And I am dancing to it!  Freedom.  Hmmm….. just sounds good.  Okay.  I’ll write more on that soon!
