well, it seems that even one is a blessing these days! :) i don't think it's just you that has a hard time finding that safe place. the more i talk to women, the more i realize that we all come with so much baggage per say that it prevents us from uniting with others on a deeper level. and isn't that just like satan, to get us all insecure so that we cannot bond with others. those types of relationships must scare him a bit. so i say we all fight it! :)
and gabe's always reminding me that it isn't about me when i get my feelings hurt by others. he's right. i know it. so, i think the Lord's teaching me about releasing myself and releasing others to be who He has made us to be. it's not easy. it's actually quite difficult! but the reward will be sweet!
and yes, i love sally's stuff! try reading her mission to motherhood book- you will love it too. her husband clay wrote a book called heartfelt discipline that I am reading right now and it's great!
miss you girl!

I think I have only one of these people in my life right now (my mom excluded :). I have thought about this often over the years and have wondered why it is so hard to find that "safe place" with other women. It takes a lot for me to get to that place, if ever. I think I have been hurt so often by those I consider friends, that when I meet new people, it takes me a while. I wish it weren't that way.

And isn't Sally great? I have her book, Educating the Wholehearted Child, and I love it!
