A Frugal, Thoughtful Christmas!

This year I made the commitment to make most, if not all, of my Christmas presents!  I don’t think I realized what work it would be!  But I have loved every minute.  I love to the challenge to be creative.  I love the time to actually think about people and what things they would like.  I love giving myself the time to think about and pray for each person as I am making their gifts.  This Christmas has meant more to my heart than any other Christmas so far- and less to my pocket book!

There is such freedom in this for me.  In the past I would get bogged down on how much I can spend on each person.  This has allowed me to take a little money and make a really fun, unique present for people.

we Need to do nothing

I have found a new sight that I love to read.  Yesterday I was reading her blog post about the need to chill, intentionally & it really resonated with me.  So I am sure you could use the encouragement too…. especially in the busyness of the holidays.  It always feels like things kick into overdrive.  We should do nothing, every once in a while, on purpose!  Read it.

popcorn & cranberry garland

I have always wanted to make popcorn & cranberry garland!  I know, it’s sad that I haven’t done it before.  But, I decided it was time to try.  Plus, Josiah is at a great age to do it too.  So yesterday, we tried it!  It was a fun experience for us… lots of good talking time and eating twizzlers!!  (read more)
