Kids are just the best!  I am loving being a mom.  But there is such power there!  Like for Christmas, we as parents totally set their understanding and expectations.  I feel such a responsibility to really think through things before my kids experience it.  I just don’t want them to get the wrong idea.  Christmas is about way more than getting presents.  Thankfully, there is grace!  You would understand my need even more if you know my kids.  My firstborn is the type that once it’s done a way, it will ALWAYS be done that way.  It’s weird how many details he remembers about things.  Weird!  Gabe and I have laughed that once we do it a way it will be done that way for the rest of our lives.  It feels that way at least.

So this Christmas we are trying to slow things down a bit.  Enjoy each other.  Remember the birth of that precious baby so many years ago.  Love on family and friends.  Care for strangers in need.  You know, give the best of ourselves to the world.  Love others through the love of the Lord.  That’s really what I want my kids to do.
