playing in the rain…

Don’t you wish you could run around and play in the rain??  I mean, what is that keeps us from acting like kids?  As adults, it’s just so hard to let down those gaurds and inhabitions!  But, I do love watching my boys have fun.  My oldest has definitely benefited from his brother!  Josiah would have never run around in the rain and gotten messy before Jeremiah!  Never!  But, Jeremiah has so much fun that now Josiah jumps right in!  I love it the way God has set my boys individually and together for each other.  I know he works all things out and I can see it before me!  Here are some pics from today at my parent’s house.  It’s raining and cold, but they didn’t care! Thanksgiving goodness

I love family time!  I love having everyone around, laughing, remembering old time!  So, Thanksgiving was just that for me!  I had so much fun with my family and we even went fishing!  Well, we took the kids fishing!  What a great day!  I have so much to be thankful for!  (read on)

Fun Find

I just love the vintage(y) return address stamps.  So, last week I found ones that I loved at The Paper Princess and finally ordered myself one!  I am so ecstatic!  It’s going to be great for Christmas to just stamp our cute little address instead of writing it out SO many times!  Check them out for yourselves!  I am very pleased with mine!

Loving my husband…

Our first year of marriage, my biggest struggle was unmet expectations.  Granted a lot of that has resolved itself.  But it can still be a struggle- and not just with my husband, but my kids as well.  The weight of expectations can suck the life right out of you and others.  So I am really working on enjoying the people in my life.  Love who they are.  Love how they live around me.  Love the ups and downs, ins and outs, highs and lows, the exciting and the mundane.  And my goal is to give grace where I can- it feels good to get it and it feels good to give it!

Being a mom

Kids are just the best!  I am loving being a mom.  But there is such power there!  Like for Christmas, we as parents totally set their understanding and expectations.  I feel such a responsibility to really think through things before my kids experience it.  I just don’t want them to get the wrong idea.  Christmas is about way more than getting presents.  Thankfully, there is grace!  You would understand my need even more if you know my kids.  My firstborn is the type that once it’s done a way, it will ALWAYS be done that way.  It’s weird how many details he remembers about things.  Weird!  Gabe and I have laughed that once we do it a way it will be done that way for the rest of our lives.  It feels that way at least.
